SUP School + Rentals at Lake Edith in Jasper National Park
Hi folks :) Welcome. These are not stock photos. ↓ This is Lake Edith and it’s a gem!
Translucid Adventures aims to introduce all humans to educational experiences of play and calm on the water through stand up paddle boarding. Come out to Lake Edith in Jasper National Park to explore and reconnect.
The ice on Lake Edith breaks up and thaws sometime in late April or early May. We start our scheduled Paddles Canada courses, skills clinics, and instructor training sessions once the ice melts. May and the first two weeks of June are reserved for scheduled programming, staff training, and lesson series booked in advance. During this time, we also offer discounted staff parties and private group bookings.
We open daily walk-up rental operations at Lake Edith approximately the second last week of June and run daily until the first weekend of September. Visit our RENTALS page for exact dates each season. Rentals provided on a first-come first-serve basis. No reservations available during regular hours. The rental shack will close on days where the winds are strong or air temps are predicted to be below 16C/59F. For hot days, we now have cold drinks on site.
Through July and August we have limited courses scheduled while we focus on serving our rental and private lesson clients. SUP Yoga starts up at the end of June and runs during our warmest months of July and August.
September is racing season for some of our athletes on the CanRVRSUP team. With the return to school for many of our clients and staff, we only offer private bookings and courses after the Labour Day long weekend.
Translucid Adventures stand up paddle boarding school operates under an experiential tourism model that places emphasis on learning and connection to the natural environment to foster both individual wellness and environmental stewardship in our guests.
Every rental comes with approximately 10-minutes of basic skills instruction before your rental time begins. Each lesson also includes some important water safety reminders.
All of our guides and class instructors are Paddle Canada certified. Our certified SUP guides can lead large group experiences at Lake Edith and small boutique tours of two to six paddlers on various lakes around Jasper National Park. Lakes we are licensed to guide on include: Lake Edith, Patricia Lake, Lake Beauvert, Pyramid Lake, Medicine Lake, Moab Lake, Beaver Lake, Talbot Lake and Lake Annette.
We are available for team building or celebration bookings such as birthday parties and stagettes where we can customize the experience to your groups needs.
We believe that recreational paddling and time spent exploring in nature are important paths back into connection with our natural environment and ourselves. Translucid Adventures aims to re-awaken your innate sense of wholeness and inner vibrance through learning and play. We believe that being immersed in the solitude of nature makes life make more sense.
We believe in the protection of wild places and the enjoyment of these places through self-propelled activities. We promote healthy living and sustainable experiences.
